Job Description
JOB TITLE: Duty Manager
REPORTS TO: Front Office Manager


The Front Office – Duty Manager will have oversight of the front office staff, cash control for float money, staffing needs, and guest services. Additional responsibilities include staff training, staff development and scheduling.
Act as the Manager on Duty for the hotel in the absence of the Front Office Manager, dealing with all issues that may arise.

Minimum Education Level:  Diploma in Hospitality;
Preferred Education Level: Degree in Relevant Fields.
Has at least 4 - 5 years’ experience in Hospitality Industry.
Language proficiency:
Able to write, read and communicate in English, Malay and Mandarin.
Essential Requirements:
1. Pleasant personality, highly proficient in Bahasa Malaysia, English, and Mandarin;
2. Computer Skills - Demonstrated ability with regard to computer skills, including experience using hotel booking programs, preference given to candidates with knowledge of IFCA;
3. Has a history of demonstrating confidentiality and tact in business/personnel situations, with excellent verbal communication & interpersonal skills;
4. Is knowledgeable with the safety component of associates & guests during emergencies; First Aid Certificate and knowledge of fire, life and safe procedures an asset;
6. Enjoys working and is passionate for the job, thrives in a fast paced environment;
7. Excels in task delegation and team work, proficient in time management;
8. Clear and effective communicator;
9. Extremely organized with a high attention to detail;
10. Able to work long and early morning hours;
11. Ability to inspire customer trust and confidence;
12. Ability to multi-task, think fast and to deliver solutions to customer requirements;
13. Possess diplomacy, discretion and impartiality of judgment;
14. Creative in thinking and approach, confident, and enjoys a challenges;
15. A good sense of humour, flexible and forward thinking.
